I grew up being surrounded by notebooks, pens, pencils and a lot of paper. Fast forward to today, I still am, and I can’t picture out my life without these little darlings.
The sight of a lovely illustration on the cover of a notebook always makes me take a pause, flip and feel the texture of the inside pages. There’s so much beauty that I see in every sheet of paper, I can’t help but squeal, and it’s kind of weird, if you think about it. But the smell of the brown paper is just so addicting that I couldn’t care less.
The last few weeks gave the art section of my shelf its happy days and my heart, too. I was lucky enough to snag good finds and configuring the idea that I might as well provide them their well-deserved share of the limelight through the blog gave me so much excitement!
And so without further ado, here’s what’s inside my latest haul:
Someone will sing it for me someday: “Welcome to New York, it’s been waiting for you!” And I will be sending gifts home and the usage of these tags will finally be legit.
It’s a different approach to holiday greeting cards, and well, it reminds me of Taylor Swift’s Red. Imagining how much impact this card can bring to the person who’s going to receive it made me head on to the counter. I thought about myself.
I’m very particular when it comes to pens. Not being bitchy, it’s just that my hands couldn’t function as they do with fine rollerball point pens. I also got My Metal pens after a really long time, because the innate love that I have for typography resurfaced. I can’t wait to get my hands on these babies and make new creations!
My giggles inside the store couldn’t be contained! The moment I glanced upon this gorgeous pad, I knew I was going to get it. Even so, it still took me an hour to decide whether I would get the one with a spiral spine and darker colored pages, but in the end I was sure I had to give time to going back to lettering. There’s always a next time after all, and that will be tomorrow!
Oh, man. Finally reaching this point of the post left me breathless. I am so much in love and words are not enough for me to express how much adoration I have for this wonderful work of art. The slip case had to have its own moment, because it’s so sweet to look at my name scribbled on it.
And then here’s the real pretty thing:
I instantly opened the parcel the moment it arrived at my desk. Seeing the typography through the transparent plastic brought me so much joy, I showed Ian the planner and all that was left for me to do was scream and shout. He couldn’t help looking at me weirdly and I was like, oh my gosh this is too good for my life.
Katrina was very accommodating and I was so grateful that she took the time to respond to my e-mails, though she was on travel. The fact that I had to wait for it patiently made it really worth it, and it gave me such fulfillment that I cannot explain.
I love every bit of this planner: the texture of the paper (so smooth I can rub my feet on it all day, but I won’t), the colors inside blend so well, the fonts used (oh my they’re perfect!) and the photographs, they’re everything I want to happen in my life.
I know, I know. They’re just notebooks, papers, pens and photos, but that’s it exactly — they’re notebooks, papers, pens and photos and they have the capability to make me happy, they make my world a fun and pretty place to live in.
